FOTOTECA UNIONE

Since 1956, the Italian and foreign cultural institutes united in the Unione Internazionale degli Istituti di Archeologia, Storia e Storia dell'Arte in Roma have financed the creation of their own photographic archive. At present, the Fototeca dell'Unione di arte post-antica romana, which is part of the Photographic Collection of the Bibliotheca Hertziana, comprises more than 25,000 photographs on post-antique art, primarily of the city of Rome, together with photographs of a number of monuments of Latium. In addition, since 1956 the American Academy in Rome has been compiling a corresponding section on ancient Roman art and architecture.
